Jabulani Maluleke have bagged the Coach and Player of the Month awards respectively. This recognition was the first time the club had made a clean sweep at the individual monthly awards held at the Premier Soccer League office today.
“Im honoured and privileged to win this kind of award. I got the call yesterday. I was overwhelmed. I am very happy. I play a big role. We have many youngsters. I have to be their leader. The coach established himself in the team.” – Jabulani Maluleke.
Maluleka’s wish is to win more trophies with his current team Polokwane City who are occupying 4th position on the PSL log.
“I would like to win a trophy with Polokwane City. We’ve been doing well for the last two seasons. I want to win a trophy with the team. That will be a good achievement said the Skipper.
Jabu was once on Orlando Pirates wanted list but chose loyalty to stay with his former team Supersport United
“I’ve had an offer from Orlando Pirates. I was loyal to Supersport United. I had to make a decision and after consulting my parents and thinking about my future, I chose to go to Polokwane City.
The Soweto-born Maluleke, who is also City’s set-piece specialist, today won his first player of the month award in his 13th year in top flight football.
Maluleke’s teammate Edgar Manaka, Orlando Pirates’ winger Vincent Pule and Bidvest Wits duo Simon Murray and Thabang Monare were also mentioned for their form during the month.
