Chippa United are ready for their first home match of the 2020/21 DSTV Premiership season when they host Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium this evening.
The match kicks off at 7.30pm and is live on the SuperSport PSL Channel. No fans will be permitted near the precinct for this fixture with the country still observing Level 1 restrictions because of the Covid19 pandemic.
Chilli Boy Ryan Rae said he was hopeful to see was looking forward to his first outing with the team at home and remained hopeful that the fans will
“I am looking forward to my first home game as a Chippa United player and have also been looking forward to playing at this magnificent venue that I now call home,” said Rae.
“We know that our fans will be alongside us even though they will be watching us on television instead of being at the field…however, we all still have to adhere to the Covid19 regulations but still, we have to ensure that we keep our fans happy when they are watching us play at home.
“We are coming from our first match away to Cape Town City on the weekend (1-1 draw), where I believe we played good football and to our technical team’s instructions. Chiefs can never be underestimated and will be wounded since they are coming from a loss- but I believe that our preparations will be excellent heading to this game.”
A day before the match, Chippa reported a full squad that is available for selection ahead of the match with no injury concerns for coach Lehlohonolo Seema.
