Moroka Swallows face Platinum Stars away at Maruleng Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is at 3.15.
Gordon Igesund’s on-form men have been in fine fettle since he took over the reins as head coach at Swallows.
The Birds have lost only one of their last 10 league games, and go into their weekend encounter with Platinum Stars as a focused and determined team.
The teams have met 16 times in the league since the 2003/04 season with the Birds having won 10 games to the opposition’s 4.
With two matches to play before the recess, Swallows are in fifth place on the Premiership table with 24 points after 13 games. The Dube Birds are currently four points off log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and a win against Platinum Stars on Saturday will see Igesund’s men reduce it to just a point.
Igesund will do without the services of Joseph Makhanya and Bennett Chenene, who are both out with injuries, while Ashraf Hendricks is out due to suspension and he knows his side can’t be over confident ahead of this weekend’s clash.
