AmaZulu Confident Ahead of Pirates

AmaZulu’s great form in the Absa Premiership will be put to the test by Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight, kick-off at 19h30.

AmaZulu defeated Ajax Cape Town 4-2 away from home in their last league match. They are unbeaten in four matches, having claimed three wins in that sequence.

The Durban team, however, has not been especially impressive at home this season, with just three wins from the 10 matches.

Usuthu are placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 30 points from 21 matches.

Pirates claimed a 3-1 home win over Free State Stars in their last league game. They are unbeaten in three matches, with two wins in that sequence.

The Soweto side has struggled away from home this season, with three wins, one draw and six losses from 10 matches.

The Buccaneers are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 22 matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Pirates have met in 47 league matches since 1985.

Bucs have 22 wins compared to nine for Usuthu, while 16 matches have been drawn. AmaZulu’s home record against Pirates reads: P22 W6 D10 L6 GF23 GA25 When the teams met earlier this season at Orlando Stadium they played to a goalless draw.
