Kaizer Chiefs will look to redeem themselves tonight

Kaizer Chiefs will look to make up ground in the Absa Premiership title race when they host Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 19h30.

Chiefs come into the game having claimed a 2-1 win away to Platinum Stars in their last league outing. They have picked up three wins, two draws and two losses in their last seven matches.

The Soweto giants have a sold home record this season, with seven wins from 10 matches.

The Amakhosi are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 40 points from 23 matches.

Maritzburg drew 1-1 at home to Santos on their last league outing, their third successive draw.

The KwaZulu-Natal team has yet to win away from home this season, with seven draws and five losses from 12 matches.

The Team of Choice is placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 26 points from 24 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Maritzburg have met in 11 league matches since 2005/06.

The Amakhosi have claimed five wins and the balance of the matches are split evenly between draws and wins for the KwaZulu-Natal team.

Chiefs have won three of the five home matches they have had against Maritzburg, with one draw and one loss.

When the teams met in Pietermaritzburg earlier this season they played to a goalless draw
