Exciting returns for Absa Premiership

If the last three seasons are to be used as a yardstick, league leaders Kaizer Chiefs (currently on 35 points) and Orlando Pirates (34 points) would need only 25 points each from their last 14 games to ensure they win the league title – 58, 60 and 57 points have been enough to secure the league title over the last three seasons.

It appears to be a two-horse race at present between AmaKhosi and the Buccaneers, although Platinum Stars will also feel that they are with a chance, sitting just three points behind Pirates.

Tuesday’s matches are as follows:

18:00 Free State Stars v Chippa United – Charles Mopeli Stadium
19:30 Black Leopards v Bidvest Wits – Peter Mokaba Stadium
19:30 AmaZulu v Maritzburg Utd – Moses Mabhida Stadium

Wednesday’s fixtures:

19:30 University of Pretoria v Golden Arrows – Tuks Stadium 19:30 Orlando Pirates v SuperSport United – Orlando Stadium 19:30 Ajax Cape Town v Moroka Swallows – Cape Town Stadium 19:30 Platinum Stars v Bloem Celtic – Royal Bafokeng Stadium
