Rodger De Sa who met his technical team met earlier today ahead of the opening session tomorrow, said he was eyeing the opening CAF Champions League match against AC Leopards as well as the pre-season tournament against Kaizer Chiefs.
“We will have to prepare well for the challenges ahead,” said the head coach. “We have a tough opening match in the Champions League starting on the 20th (July) against AC Leopards. Then we have the Carling Cup against our rivals a week later.
“Even though these are tough games, personally – I think it will be good for the team to start the season with highly competitive matches to get us focussed early on.
“Unfortunately we don’t have enough time to prepare the team but we will have to make good use of the little time we have to get the guys ready for these key opening matches.”
He added: “Some of the injured guys should be fine by now and let us hope the guys return hungry for training. There’s lots of work to be done….we will do some checks on them on the opening day and then start with the programme later in the week.”
