“We didn’t have our regular players, we missed Alie, we also missed Khama, we all know what happened on Friday, those are results we suffer. We had a different team, we resorted to players who don’t have game time, (Percy Tau, Surprise and Cheese boy) on a free flowing high Tempo game.”
“I think it’s unfair to us more than them, but irrespective of all that we tried we put pressure, we created opportunities. It was not easy for them to come out of that box, lot of crosses, lot of corner kicks but they are a good team. I could see they needed a win more than us, they fought hard and deserved to win but a draw could have been fair results for us.” Sundowns’s coach concluded
When he was asked about his thought on the race of the league title “This thing is a marathon, you cannot foresee or detect, we pay more attention onto ourselves not our neighbours” he said.
Mamelodi Sundowns failed to accumulate important points that could have seen them mounting the pressure to Kaizer Chiefs, who are comfortably occupying the 1st spot with 43 points, having played 19 games. The gap remains to be 9 points difference between the two teams.
Sundowns remains on the 2nd position after 18 games with 34 points and have a game in hand to equal Amakhosi.
