City looks to gun down Swallows

Rise and Shine need a vintage display accompanied by a win to ensure that their dream of securing a top flight status is guaranteed irrespective of how Free State Stars and Golden Arrows fare.

City is placed fourteenth with 27 points from 28 matches played in the current season.

Following a 2-1 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces, their second win away from home three weeks ago, Boebie Solomons’ charges will go for the kill to ensure that the Limpopo province still has a team in the PSL next season.

“This is the game we have been waiting for and I believe we are ready for Swallows because if we beat them then we will go on top of them. The two weeks break has brought back the much needed hunger in the squad and we cannot wait for the match,” said midfielder Maxwell Molala.

In City’s last match at home where even Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha was in attendance, the stadium was buzzing with support. Molala believes there is no way the Swallows can fly at night, judging by the home side’s intimidating crowd.

“What we need to do is beat Swallows. With the support we have received at home, I believe the dream of having another bite in the elite league will be realized,” concluded Molala.

Head coach Boebie Solomons will have the pleasure of a fully fit squad apart from midfielder Sandile Sabande who is the only player who will not be considered for selection as he is serving a one match suspension.
