The team of choice played with youngsters that showed no respect to the Tshwane Giants, that saw Maritzburg United finding an equalizer through a penalty in last minute of the game.
When Steve Kompela was asked about his impression of the match “I think we played fairly well, under circumstances that we missed 7 of our players who we knew that they can start at any given time. There were 3 youngsters who were put in, the striker Mokate, Van Wyk and Mekuwa. So to me, they gave good account of themselves. One can give them a high note”
But the Team of choice Coach feels that there’s more to be done “In terms of the game, we could have done better, we could have came through the back, through the middle field. But the only thing we need to work on is, confidence, more especially in the final third and inside the box but it comes with experience”
He further more praised his troops “At the back of the performance, one can look forward to a brighter future. Some of this players were boarding a plane for the first time to play against Mamelodi Sundowns who are the league Champions.” He concluded.
