AmaZulu FC continue to struggle as they ‘donate’ yet more points to the Tshwane side in a one-sided game played in the capital city. It was clear from the onset that Pitso’s boys were here to collect maximum points by hook or crook. Their combination throughout the game reminded us of the ‘Shoe-shine and Piano in the past years. The first half ended in a goalless draw, which the KZN side had hoped it’d remain like that until the end of the game. The defending Champions were on a different mood today, all they wanted was to redeem themselves after suffering a 3 nil defeat at hands of the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates in the last 4 days. They played like a team, which had been lacking in the past few games. Did they perhaps find a long-term combination?
‘I am very happy that we won yesterday. I love this team, Sundowns, with all my heart. I have been supporting them for as long as I can remember. Since I came to South Africa, the only team I know is Sundowns. I come from Zimbabwe, Mutare and supporting ‘Downs has been part of my life ever since. What makes me happy after today’s victory is that they did it for us, women, on the last day of women’s month. Thank you boys for the victory, it means a lot to us.
We are going to have a beautiful sleep tonight. I just hope they keep this fire burning even in the coming games’, Aldeliah Zezai is a Bafana ba style supporter who hails from Zimbabwe; we met her after the game at Loftus stadium in Tshwane.
If Sundowns continue to play like this, many teams will suffer. They looked possessed today, it’s so obvious that they are doing it for their coach. Let’s wait and see what they do to their next opponents.
