Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese says he’s happy his team played very well to ensure they beat Chippa to progress to the next round of the Telkom Knockout.
Dikwena beat the Chilli Boys 1-0 at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on Saturday afternoon.
Dikwena’s goal came in the 85th minute courtesy of an own goal by Chippa’s captain James Okwusosa.
Freese says he’s delighted that they managed to get a victory after a tight competition between the two sides.
“Well done to my goalkeeper, Kabelo Dambe, he did very well and to get a man-of-the-match says a lot about his performance,” said Freese.
“We didn’t close Chippa down and we knew what they were coming with.”
The coach mentioned the fact that they had to talk at the end of the first half and decided to gather together.
“I’m happy, because in the second half we gathered together behind them.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t get another goal, but I’m happy with what we achieved,” added Freese.
