Chippa United coach Roger Sikhakhane says credit must go to Platinum Stars goalkeeper Kabelo Dambe for keeping them in the game against his side.
The Chilli Boys were defeated 1-0 by Dikwena in the Telkom Knockout game at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturdayafternoon.
Dikwena’s goal came in the 85th minute when defender James Okwuosa deflected a cross from Mahlatse Makudubela and turned it into the far corner.
However, Sikhakhane says they played well despite the finest form of their keeper, who denied his side on various occasions.
“Yea, I think we played very well – we played according to our preparations,” said Sikhakhane.
“I’m disappointed we couldn’t bury the chances we created and I think their keeper deserved the credit,” said the coach.
The Rustenburg-based club joins Bidvest Wits in the last-eight and could face SuperSport United in the quarterfinals of the TKO after beating Free State Stars 1-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
