Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says it is very sad to see his side exit the Telkom Knockout competition after losing 1-0 to Platinum Stars in a semifinal match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday, November 9.
A single goal from Eleazar Rodgers five minutes into the second 45 was the difference between the sides and Mosimane blamed it on a poor defensive lapse by his team.
“It is difficult times,” said Mosimane.
“I think our game plan in the first half was good, it was perfect – the movement and passing of the ball was good, chances were created, but again chances were not taken.
“They had one chance and they scored – it is the game of football.
“It was a tactical mistake at the back by my two centre-backs, my right centre-back could have covered my left centre-back, he was a little too far from him
“And you lose a game because of this, nothing else.
“It is very sad.”
