Mamelodi Sundowns made it two wins on the trott when they beat Free State Stars 2 – 0 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Absa Premiership league defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns powered to second place on the log with a 2-0 win over Free State Stars.
There were no changes to the Sundowns starting eleven from the side that beat Supersport United in midweek.
Cuthbert Malajila gave The Brazilians the lead while Khama Billiat continued with his rich vein of form as the tricky Zimbabwean scored his second in consecutive matches.
Bafana Ba Style dominated the match and could have scored earlier had man of the match Billiat converted but it was countryman Malajila who scored first in the 12th minute to give the home side the lead.
The Downs technical team had to reshuffle things early in the match as Malajila was forced to leave the pitch in the first half with a suspected hamstring injury. He was replaced by Anthony Laffor.
Sundowns on loan player Tiyani Mabunda was playing like a man possessed and almost put the visitors on level terms but Kennedy Mweene was on his A game.
The home side wrapped things up on the hour mark with a top of the drawer finish from Billiat, who sliced through the Stars defence with ease before unleashing a perfect shot across goal.
The result sees Sundowns keep up with pace setters Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the log.
