A full capacity Lucas Moripe stadium was a place to be for the Bafana Ba Style and Amakhosi supporters. They came to witness the history in the making as the visitors continued to break the local records, they collected maximum points to move to 66 points with 2 more games to go.
Just when we thought the game was over, Bernard Parker came to the opponents’ surprise when he snatched a very late goal which left the hosts flabbergasted. They just could not believe their eyes as their chances of getting the 2nd spot get dented. Everybody was clear that the game will end in a goalless draw.
‘First of all my friend, I would like to say the crowd caught me by surprise. I didn’t expect that big number, not that it is impossible but eish, the crowd was just a marvel to watch. Seeing those Gold, Black and Blue colors all over the stadium was encouraging and I hope it will always be the case going forward.
In terms of the game itself, I think our boys did well, the way they conduct themselves during the game was just out of this world. They did not allow the Championship to get into their heads, they respected us, which is what we expect from them at all times. If you didn’t know you would have thought they are fighting for the PSL relegation. Our coaches’ plan for the day was great, it was brilliant. We started from the back, which allowed our engine to feed the striking force well. By the way I didn’t even see that goal, these boys can catch you by surprise hey. I as already preparing to leave the stadium thinking the game ended in a draw.
I must also say it was very nice to see the ‘guard of honor’ from the Mamelodi Sundowns players for our boys in their own backyard, yhoo, it was so sweet you know, I mean these guys are the current Champions my friend. We broke the record baba, 65 points in one season. It feels good to be a Khosi madala. What a great feeling, Amakhosi a khou takala nga maanda’, Thulani ‘2010’ Ngcobo is a reliable and proud soccer supporter who follows Chiefs wherever they play.
