Those matches will now be played at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Phokeng, some seven kilometres outside of Rustenburg and a venue used during the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The change in venue has been necessitated by certain technical work which was required and which could not be completed on time and therefore the stadium does not comply with national safety standards required for the staging of international matches.
In the interests of safety the matches have therefore been moved to the magnificent Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
COSAFA would like to extend their gratitude to the Royal Bafokeng Nation for accommodating the COSAFA Cup 2015 at their flagship venue.
The world-class stadium was opened in 1999 and remains one of the top venues in South Africa, able to accommodate some 45,000 spectators.
It is the home of the Platinum Stars club who play in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League and hosted six matches at the FIFA World Cup and another seven at the 2013 African Nations Cup finals.
SAFA have assured fans that all tickets already purchased for matches at Olympia Park will be honoured at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
All dates and kick-off times for fixtures remain the same.
