JomoSono800x600-Medium-412x309Jomo Cosmos are mindful of the fact that there is still plenty of work to be done before they can potentially realise their dream of promotion to the PSL.

Ezenkosi face Black Leopards in a crunch Promotion/Relegation Play-Off clash at the Vaal University of Technology on Wednesday knowing victory will leave them strongly placed in their drive towards the Absa Premiership.

Cosmos were 4-1 winners over Moroka Swallows in their last game over the weekend.

The result put them top of the mini-table on goal difference, with Swallows and Black Leopards also both having won one and lost one of their two matches to date.

Having gone in Sunday’s match on the back of a 2-0 loss to Leopards, Cosmos boss Jono Sono was relieved to see his players bouncing back in a ruthless fashion.

“I thought we took our chances, had we taken the same chances against Leopards then it would have been a different story,” he said.

“We had to put pressure on their midfield. We knew if we could put pressure there they could break. We have four better midfielders than theirs,” added Sono, who is now looking forward to the chance to avenge a 2-0 defeat to Lidoda Duvha in the opening play-off game, which took place in the Limpopo Province.

“I know this team can play. I know they are hungry, so I never doubted that we would beat Swallows. But we must just forget about this game now and start planning for Leopards. These players want Leopards, they want to play against Leopards, so badly.”

Ezenkosi marksman Brice Aka echoed the sentiments of his boss.

“I’m very happy with the three points – we wanted to bounce back and now we are level on points,” he added. “But we haven’t achieved anything yet, our goal is to go to the PSL, we have to remain focussed.”
