Morris upbeat over injury progress

Tashreeq MorrisAjax Cape Town striker Tashreeq Morris is pleased with progress he is making after undergoing knee surgery in May.

Morris was injured late on in the Nedbank Cup final against Mamelodi Sundowns, a game which the Urban Warriors lost on penalties.

He went under the surgeon’s knife a few weeks after that and the Nedbank Cup Young Player of the Tournament is now currently working on a rehabilitation program at Ajax’s Ikama training base.

While no time frame has been set in his return to full training yet, he is happy with the progress being made.

“They say the operation went well. I started getting treatment the day after I came out of hospital. I’ve been getting rehab treatment at Ikamva everyday now and I also do some training at home on my own.

“I’ve been given a program to follow and I am sticking to it, so my progress is going very well,” the 21-year-old Morris told the Ajax website.

Morris played in 34 games for the Cape side last season, netting nine goals in all competitions.
