Asamoah Gyan has arrived in China ahead of his big money move to Shanghai SIPG.
The Ghanaian is set to pen a deal worth £227,000-a-week – an amount topped by only seven other players in the world.
Gyan, who spent a season in the Premier League with Sunderland in 2009-10, already earns approximately £160,000-a-week with current side Al Ain.
“I want to really thank the entire Al Ain club and its fans for the support they have me in my time here,” Gyan told Al Ain’s official website
At Al Ain we were able to achieve a lot of things and I tell you this club will remain in my heart forever.
“It is however time to embrace a new challenge and hopefully this new challenge will be as successful or even better than my time here at Al Ain.”
