The 2015 Carling League of Champions culminated in emphatic fashion as football lovers came out in their numbers to pack the NIKE Training Centre to the rafters for the finals of the 2015 Carling League of Champions on Saturday, 11 July. The fourth edition of the community football festival is growing to becoming one of the most sought after community soccer tournaments.

Teams came into the finals well-motivated and beaming with confidence after a prestigious welcome dinner that was organized for them upon their arrival in Johannesburg. The teams were given a champions welcome dinner at the Maslow Hotel where they interacted with seasoned football legends in Thabo Mooki and Edward ‘’Magents” Motale.

From a total of 60 teams across the country, X20, Cosmo City FC, Swallows FC, PMB All Stars, White Jazz FC and Masande FC were the final six teams that were in contention for the coveted Carling League of Champions trophy that is accompanied by R30 000 plus an unforgettable trip to the highly anticipated Carling Black Label Cup next month. With the backing of close to 5000 fans, teams came out guns blazing but it was X20 and Masande FC who eventually contested in a fierce battle in the finals. The two teams overcame their opponents in the group stages to meet each other in the decider.

We went out to different parts of the country and provided a unique opportunity for communities to feel like champions through an exciting tournament like the Carling League of Champions.
