Jomo Cosmos to test their readiness of their new players at Charity Cup

Cosmos_Leopards1For Jomo Cosmos, the tournament is also a return to their favourite hunting ground where they gave Mamelodi Sundowns some of their most memorable encounters during their time in the PSL. Ajax, on the other hand, will relish the prospect of playing against Sundowns in the hope of inflicting revenge for the Nedbank Cup heart break which they lost on penalties to the Tshwane giants.

Tukkies are on a rebuilding process after losing some critical players, among them marauding striker Geoffrey Massa who has moved down south to join Bloemfontein Celtic.

For Sundowns, it is a home tournament, and provides coach Pitso Mosimane with an opportunity to say “hello” to his fans. The die-hard fans will be watching closely to see how the team is shaping up, as they look forward to Mosimane putting together a performance through the season that will take the Brazilians back to the league championship.

The draw for the order of play was due to be made on Friday morning to determine who is pitted against who. But from calls to radio sports programmes,, the fans are hoping to see another clash between Sundowns and Ajax.

Whatever the draw, it is all about charity and giving, and so a packed Lucas Moripe Stadium is what the organisers are hoping for.
