Three-time Absa Premiership champions SuperSport United have made a major scoop with the signing of Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman.

Furman has signed a two year deal with Matsatsantsa which sees him returning to the country where he was born, having departed Cape Town for the United Kingdom as a youngster.

“SuperSport United would like to confirm the signing of Bafana Bafana captain Dean Furman on a two-year deal with an option to renew,” the club confirmed after they unveiled the player on Tuesday evening.

The midfield anchorman spent time as a youth team player at Chelsea as well as at Glasgow Rangers before going on to play for Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Doncaster Rovers, all teams in England’s lower divisions.

The 27-year-old made his Bafana Bafana debut in 2012 and went on to become a regular for the national team, having also skippered the side on occasion.
