Kaizer Chiefs have received some welcome news with the return to training of Bafana Bafana central defender Morgan Gould.

The former Jomo Cosmos and SuperSport United player has been out since April this year after tearing his Achilles tendon in a CAF Champions League match against Raja Casablanca.

But Gould is now back in training, with Chiefs hopeful that he’ll be available for selection within the next few weeks.

“The training will consist of limited game situations. He should be totally ready after the Fifa break (31 August to 8 September 2015),” read a statement on the club’s website.

It could however be some time before fellow centre-back Daniel Cardoso is back in the mix, with the following prognosis given on the former Free State Stars man:

“The defender is recovering from a stress fracture in the shin bone. According to Chiefs’ medical report it shows great improvement. He will have another x-ray in three weeks’ time after which a final decision will be made.”

Other news from the camp is that striker Bongani Ndulula has been back in training since last week.

Chiefs are next in action when they take on Free State Stars at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 22 August, 20H15.
