Head Coach Eric Tinkler is looking forward to build on his sides’ convincing 4-1 win over Chippa United when Orlando Pirates host AC Leopards on Saturday.
The Mighty Buccaneers are set to do battle once again, against a resurgent AC Leopards when the two sides meet in the return fixture of the CAF Confederations Cup which will be played at the Orlando Stadium.
Tinkler who was evidently pleased with his charges’ win on Tuesday is well aware of the potential threat that Leopards pose; speaking to Orlandopiratesfc.com he said: “This is an all our nothing game for Leopards. They come to Jo’burg knowing that nothing less than a win will be sufficient. “It is vitally important that we are disciplined defensively and ensure that we don’t concede goals. When they (Leopards) do open up we need to punish them the same way we punished CS Sfaxien that doesn’t change, we need to play with intelligence, we know we need only one point but that doesn’t mean we are going to sit back.”
For the Buccaneers a win or draw will guarantee qualification into the semi-finals, with a match in hand but Tinkler and his technical team will have the unfortunate scenario of injuries to deal with.
“Obviously we want all our best players available but this (injuries) was expected due to the fact that we have had the two seasons overlapping and the team has not had an end of season break. We are going to get injuries but fortunately for us with the exception of Brighton Mhlongo who has a major injury, everyone else who has been out; has been minor and not too serious.”
Kick off for the clash against AC Leopards is scheduled for 18h00 on Saturday.
