The Telkom Knockout final between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs takes place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Wednesday evening.
Head coaches of the two clubs, Pitso Mosimane and Steve Komphela, held their pre-match press conference at the east coast venue on Tuesday.
“We have to understand and respect the Sundowns supporters. They know what they deserve and so they always ask for what they deserve. They know the quality we have and we’re expected to win.”
“When you come to Sundowns, you should know the expectations. If you don’t have the shoulders to carry that then you’re in the wrong place.”
“You can’t say what happened then is going to happen tomorrow. It’s all about what happens on the day.”
“Chiefs are big on experience and I think if you consider the stats, we are at a slight disadvantage.”
“Do you know when Keagan arrived? He arrived on Sunday night and we had to make sure we bring him here after the game. Yes we qualified for Rio and that’s the positive side, but on the other hand, who is going to listen to me when I say Keagan is tired? I am answerable.”
“Some guys have got butterflies in the stomach, some anxiety creeps in and what they usually do, they don’t do. These are things that the players have to deal with. We are not psychologist and it’s up to them to deal with it.” – Mosimane
