Mosimane, who came under criticism from some of his home fans early in the season, has seen them singing a different tune after steering Sundowns to a 10-game unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership. Their results have been matched by an impressive style of football.

“I’m humbled. I appreciate that I’ve been selected.” – Pitso Mosimane

The judges praised Mosimane for his tactical acumen, bringing stability to the Sundowns team, consistency in team selection and getting the best out of his players.

“I must thank the judges for selecting me. I want to congratulate Phakamani Mahlambi as well. He’s a good football player. I’m collecting this award on behalf of Mamelodi Sundowns.”  said Pitso

Sundowns beat Chippa United, Free State Stars and Orlando Pirates during the November-December period, scoring six goals in the process. They currently top the log standings, with 30 points from 14 games.

“You can even tell the starting XI for this weekend. You get injured or sick at Sundowns, you’re in trouble, the principle is that you wait in the que for your turn at Mamelodi Sundowns.” Mosimane

The Sundowns coach beat off competition from Muhsin Ertugral of Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bidvest Wits’ Gavin Hunt.
