Kaizer Chiefs’ training ground was on Wednesday full of positive energy and enthusiasm that goes with the preparations for a Soweto Derby.
A quick glance in the medical room saw Ovidy Karuru struggling with foot blisters he picked up at a MDC match a fortnight ago. Levy Mokgothu picked up a similar injury from the same assignment. Chiefs’ Medical Team described their injuries as “minor”.
A ray of hope flashes as George Lebese and Bernard Park have resumed training, even though they have not fully recovered as yet.
“Both (Lebese and Parker) are involved in training, continuing with their recovery journey to full fitness,” reads the Medical Team report.
Lebese is coming back from a groin injury picked up two weeks ago when Chiefs hosted Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.
Bernard Parker got injured in the last match of the year (2015), when Amakhosi faced Bidvest Wits in the first match home away from home in the Cape of Love & Peace.
Over 450 00 tickets for the Soweto Derby match had already been sold by Tuesday afternoon. The match will take place at the FNB Stadium this Saturday, 30 January (kick-off is at 15:30).
