The second game of the day is an early evening kick off between Polokwane City and Golden Arrows at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Abafana Bes’thende, with four defeats and one draw in 2016, will have their work cut out away from home against a Polokwane side that has won three matches this year. The KZN beat Rise and Shine 1-0 in the first round.
We will be wanting to break our unlucky losing streak, having lost 4 games in a row. This is not for lack of getting the ball and creating opportunities in the last third, but we have just not managed to finish off our opportunities. There have been some great shots on goal in the last couple of games with Fikizolo, Khenyeza, Musonda and Mahachi stepping up to the task, but everything including the wood has denied the team in their efforts.
This has not dampened the spirit of the team and we remain confident of picking up some points and climbing back into the top 8 of the log before the end of the season.
Polokwane City finished their last encounter against Platinum Stars with a 3-0 loss, and will have home advantage in the quest for 3 points. They have scored well in their last couple of encounters, however, have also conceded heavily when on the back foot. They are a hard working team with a high work rate on the field, and can upset any team on the day.
