Arendse01There were important wins on Sunday afternoon for two of Cape Town’s NFD clubs – Santos and Milano United.

Santos 1-0 Moroka Swallows 

Zeca Marques saw his Santos side beating his former employers as the Peoples’ Team moved five points clear of the relegation zone, while Swallows remain in 15th spot.

The first half saw the Gauteng side enjoying the better of the chances, but Edwin Sitayitayi, Clifford Mulenga and Msekeli Mvalo failed to make use of their opportunities.

The Peoples’ Team took the lead on 76 minutes, captain Tyren Arendse beating Aubrey Mathibe from the penalty spot after Shafeeq Arendse was ruled to have been fouled inside the Birds’ box. Both sides had chances to alter the score-line in an exciting last 15 minutes, but the hosts were able to see out the win.

AmaZulu 0-1 Milano United

Milano moved within three points of the play-off zone after edging out AmaZulu at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

The only goal of the game came after 10 minutes, Gregory Roelf beating Sage Stephens. Goodman Dlamini had the chance to equalize three minutes later, but shot over the bar after being one on one with the Kinnes’ keeper.

Thanda Royal Zulu FC v Mthatha Bucks: Postponed

The National First Division fixture between Thanda Royal Zulu and Mthatha Bucks scheduled for Umhlathuze Sport Complex in Richards Bay was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.

According to Rule 8.14 of the National Soccer League (NSL) Rules, if a match is abandoned through weather or the state of the pitch, the League will set another date on which the match will be played.

The PSL can confirm that this fixture will be replayed on Tuesday, 10 May 2016 at the same venue. Kick-off is at 15h00.
