Thanda rally for late point

Dlamini_P1Thanda Royal Zulu came from two goals down, scoring twice in the final 12 minutes at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex to earn a 2-2 NFD draw with Mthatha Bucks on Tuesday afternoon.

The visiting side struck first, scoring in the 14th minute when Philani Dlamini’s short corner was flicked on by Samkelo Ndletyana, allowing Petrus Ngebo to head home.

Ngebo was to make it four goals in three games for Amaythol’amnyama when he scored in the third minute of first half added time, again with a header, this time from Sihle Mbhele’s cross.

The KZN pulled their first goal back in the 78th minute when Michael Gumede headed in, the equaliser coming right at the death, via a Boikanyo Komane penalty.

The result leaves Thanda three points above the relegation zone, while Bucks are four points clear.
