The South African Football Coaches Association will convene a youth Coaching Seminar on the 26 May 2016 at the Johannesburg Stadium.
The seminar will be headlined by coaches with incredible track record in high performance youth coaching.
Chippa United Head Coach Dan “Dance” Malesela will present Success factors in Youth Coaching including training methodologies. The former Orlando Pirates Captain has worked extensively in youth coaching and asserted his playing philosophy at the Esselen Park School of Excellence, Garankuwa United and Mamelodi Sundowns Academy to name but a few. During the official opening of the FIFA House in 2007, Coach Malesela and Solly Luvhengo jointly led the under 14 South African team to victory at the FIFA mini tournament, their victory was capped by the exciting brand of football appreciated by coaches and administrators from different FIFA Member Associations.
Football Scholar and Mamelodi Sundowns Youth Coach Zipho Dlangalala will focus on Youth transition from Academy to Professional leagues.
Other topics include Benchmarking youth coaching internationally, Presentation of the 2015 FIFA under 17 and under 20 World Cup’s Technical Study Group findings. Bloemfontein Celtic Head Coach and former SAFA Technical Director Serame Letsoaka was a member of the FIFA Technical Study Group.
The Seminar topics will support SAFA’s call for youth coaches to contribute effectively to the country’s football talent Pipeline.
Goalkeeper coaching is another neglected area in youth development and advanced training methodologies will be explored.
The seminar will kick off at 08:30 to 16:30. Registration fee is R150.00 per coach to cover breakfast, Lunch, and Seminar Packs. There is limited seating and coaches are encouraged to pre book by depositing the R150 in the SAFCA Bank Account:
