Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat admits that 2015/16 will be a season ever to forget.
This after the 25-year-old took the season-ending #PSLAwards at Emperors Palace by storm on Monday night when he won every category he was nominated in.
The Zimbabwean walked away with the night’s most coveted prize, the PSL Footballer of the Season.
Billiat also took home the 2015/16 Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and the Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season.
“It’s feels great (to win to the awards),” he said. “Every player would like to win stuff like this at the end of the season.
“I am so excited, I don’t know what to say. This is the best season ever in my career.
“I think it’s because I didn’t get serious injuries and managed to stay on the field more than before.”
In all three categories, Billiat edged his teammates, Hlompho Kekana and Keagan Dolly. Fellow Sundowns compatriots Dennis Onyango and Thabo Nthethe were named Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season and Absa Premiership Defender of the Season respectively.
And the star of the night, praised his teammates for their support in helping him reach the top.
“I have been working hard and the players have been helping me,” he added. “They played a big role to bring the best out of me; I am around very good players at Sundowns.”
