Highlands Park edge out University of Pretoria 1-0 in the Promotion/Relegation play-offs game played at the Makhulong Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The victory saw Highlands cement their spot at the top of the play-offs standings with six points, while AmaTuks remain at the bottom of the table.
The Lions of the North did all the early attacking in the opening stages – launching a series of corners putting the visitor’s defence under pressure.
However, Tuks striker Atusaye Nyondo forced Highlands goalkeeper Kapiwa Kapini into a great save in the 16th minute.
It took only six minutes in the second-half for Jose Garcia to put Highlands into the lead with a stunning free-kick much to the delight of the home crowd.

Siphamandla Dlamini for Thabo Mosadi four minutes later as they searched for an equalizer.
The visitors launched late attacks in search of an equalising goal, but Highlands stood firm at the back and ultimately, the home side won 1-0.
