Masehe ruled out for the year

Free State Stars captain Paulus Masehe will be out for the rest of 2016 after suffering a serious injury in the Telkom Knock Out last-8 win over Kaizer Chiefs.

The news comes as a bitter blow for manager Giovanni Solinas, with the inspirational captain ruled out for at least three months.

The injury sustained on Sunday is believed to be a rupture of his adductor magnus muscle – which will require the former Orlando Pirates player to go under the knife.

In other injury reports and updates, midfielder Katlego Mashego and striker Moeketsi Sekola suffered minor sprains against Amakhosi and will be out of action for two weeks and a week respectively.

Chris Mafoumbi, Sinethemba Jantjie, Joseph Okumu and Tholang Lwana remain on the long-term injury list – with no confirmed dates set for their returns.
