SuperSport United can go top for a few hours should they beat Baroka FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium and other results go their way. Third-placed Matsatsantsa are level on 15 points with Chiefs.

In another mid-afternoon kick-off, Chippa United welcome fifth-placed Cape Town City to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, before Orlando Pirates in sixth play their first league game since the 6-1 demolition by SuperSport when they take on Free State Stars in Soweto. Muhsin Ertugral has since been replaced as coach with interim boss Augusto Palacios.

There are two games on Saturday night with winless Ajax Cape Town up against Maritzburg United at Cape Town Stadium, while the leaders Wits will be playing Stars in Rustenburg.

On Sunday, another of the early-season pace-setters, fourth-placed Golden Arrows, travel to Makhulong Stadium to tackle Highlands Park, with the other game seeing coach-less Bloemfontein Celtic entertain Polokwane City at Dr. Molemela Stadium.
