Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has urged the fans to double their efforts in prayer following his charges’ late collapse leading to the 3-1 loss to Chippa United on Saturday.
Chiefs were leading 1-0 until the 70th minute when things just fell apart, resulting in Amakhosi’s winless run stretching to eight matches.
Speaking to Julia Stuart in his post-match interview, Komphela was his usual philosophical self and called on fans to seek divine intervention.
“Like they say, victory has many fathers and a loss is an orphan. I will own up and this one, it’s on my shoulders. It’s part of taking responsibility of leadership and being a coach,” said Komphela.
“If you have no power, what message can you pass on? You just have to move on and gather strength and if you don’t have enough strength, you just have to pray hard,” added Komphela.
