Arrows aims to shock Amakhosi

Golden Arrows will look to claim the scalp of Kaizer Chiefs when the teams meet in an Absa Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 21 December 2016. Kick-off is at 18h00.

Arrows saw their winless run in the league stretched to five matches when they were held 1-1 at Baroka FC on December 18.

The Durban side has claimed nine points from six home matches this season.

Abafana Bes’thende are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 14 matches.

Chiefs claimed a first win since mid-October when they defeated Polokwane City 3-2 at home on December 18.

The Soweto giants have claimed seven points from six away matches this season.

The Amakhosi are placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 14 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chiefs and Arrows have met in 30 league matches since 2000/01.

The Amakhosi have 17 wins compared to six for Abafana Bes’thende, while seven matches have been drawn.

Arrows have won three of their 15 home matches against Chiefs, suffering seven defeats in the process.

Last season the Amakhosi completed a league ‘double’ over Abafana Bes’thende, winning 3-1 in Soweto and 2-0 in Durban.

Arrows’ last home league win against Chiefs was in the 2002/03 season.
