Hull City 2-1 Manchester United (Agg 2-3)

Manchester United will face Southampton in the EFL Cup final – but will count themselves fortunate after seeing their 17 game unbeaten run come to an end against a spirited Hull City.

Tom Huddlestone’s first-half penalty – given for a shirt pull by Marcos Rojo – handed Marco Silva’s Tigers hope, and Jose Mourinho growing more and more frustrated with referee Jon Moss.

But just as Mourinho looked to be reaching boiling point, Paul Pogba poked through the legs of Michael Dawson and into the net to make it 3-1 on aggregate and all but secure United’s spot at Wembley.

Oumar Niasse struck late on to hand Hull renewed hope, but Silva’s side couldn’t force home a third in the dying moments.
