Thembinkosi Lorch wants to hit the road running as he marks his second coming (make that third) to Orlando Pirates.
Lorch, who has gone out on loan on two occasions since signing for the Mighty Buccaneers in 2015, has returned to the stable after an impressive run out at fellow Premiership side Chippa United.
His mazy runs and pin point crosses down the right flank for the Chilly Boys have made him one of the most effective wingers in the league – and now that he is at Pirates, Lorch is looking forward to prove his mettle.
If his performance in the recent friendly match against Cape Town City is anything to go by, then the Ghost will have something to smile about when the league resumes next month.
In what was a relatively close affair against the recent Telkom Knockout champions, Pirates outmuscled City 4-2 in a three-part (45 minute a half x3) match played at the Orlando Stadium last week.
Lorch who was handed a run in the friendly scored what was arguably the goal of the match when he cut in from the left flank and produced a beautiful curler for the Buccaneers.
“I’m pleased to be back into the team and I hope to make a meaningful impact in the team. The supporters expect nothing but the best from us as players and I will be looking to do all I can to help the team.”
Meanwhile, as the resumption of the 2016/2017 season draws near, the Pirates technical team continues to fine tune and prepare the team for what promises to be a competitive second half of the season.
The first team will be playing another friendly this week as they prepare for the opening league match of the year against Platinum Stars.
