Free State Stars welcome Polokwane City to Goble Park on Wednesday evening as they aim to stretch their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership to three games.
Ea Lla Koto returned to the winning trail a fortnight ago as they edged Free State rivals Bloemfontein Celtic 3-2, following back to back defeats in the league.
And, after snatching a late 2-2 draw against fellow stragglers Black Leopards last time out, Stars will be looking to maintain their momentum with a positive result against Rise and Shine.
However, Wednesday’s match holds some uncertainty for Stars, as Polokwane have been inconsistent of late.
Stars skipper Paulus Masehe explained: “It’s not going to be an easy match, as they are very unpredictable.
“We’re not worried at all about the relegation zone, we know very well we will get out of that position soon.
“There is 27 points to play for and we are adamant that we will pick up points here and there.
“I think we have picked up form at the right time. In the last two matches we were able to get 4 points and score 5 goals, that is a positive sign.”
Both sides have failed to keep clean sheets in their last five league fixtures, meaning there is a good chance of this match offering up plenty of entertainment and goals for fans and neutrals alike.
Head to Head stats:
– Both clubs have played each other 13 times
– Ea Lla KOto have won 6
– Rise and Shine 4
– 3 matches have ended in a stalemate
