The visibly disappointed coach watched in disbelieve as Kaizer Chiefs succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic.
“It is becoming a tendency to start our games slow,” reflected Ernst Middendorp about Saturday night’s loss to Bloemfontein Celtic. “We have to rectify this, because we too often produce 0-1 situations and then we have to chase the game. We can’t continue this way.”
Middendorp was forced to change his line-up due to injuries and a suspension. “We couldn’t field Khama Billiat due to some discomfort to his thigh, while Kgotso Moleko was suspended.
“Reeve Frosler hasn’t played regularly for a long time and we need to bring him up to speed slowly.”
Amakhosi will host Free State Stars at Nelspruit’s Mbombela Stadium on Saturday, 4 May. Kick-off is at 15:00.
“We will have to move on to prepare for the stars Absa Premiership fixture . “We will work on our shortcomings and return to our winning ways.” concluded Middendorp
