Mamelodi Sundowns duo Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile have shared their views ahead of Thursday night’s PSL Awards ceremony.
The #PSLAwards20 will be on Thursday at 20h00 on SuperSport 202.
Zwane has been nominated for three categories on the night: PSL Footballer of the Season, Absa Premiership Player’s Player of the Season and Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season.
Shalulile is nominated for the PSL Footballer of the Season. The two are joined by Kaizer Chief’s Samir Nurkovic and teammate Gaston Sirino.
This is for the first time in history that this category has had more than three nominees.
The PSL Footballer is voted exclusively by the Premier Division Coaches.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s announcement Zwane said: “I’m honoured to be nominated among some of the top footballers for the Footballer of the Season, Player’s Player Award and Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season.
It’s a great feeling to me and I’m looking forward to the event. I want to thank my teammates and the coaches. Out of the three, obviously the most important one for me is the PSL Footballer of the Season.”
Shalulile, who made his name in Highlands Park colours during the 2019/20 season, has since joined Mamelodi Sundowns.
Reacting to the nomination and also the awards, Shalulile said: “This is a great experience for me to be nominated among the best players in the country. This is my first nomination since I came to South Africa and I’m very grateful and honoured.
“I’m nominated with the top players in the League – Themba Zwane, Sirino and Nurkovic from Kaizer Chiefs. If I win, it will be great for my CV and will motivate me to work hard.”
