Usuthu eyeing for a win against Capetown city

AmaZulu will welcome Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership match at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20h15 CAT.

Usuthu were narrowly beaten 4-3 by champions Mamelodi Sundowns away in their previous league match on November 22.

Lehlohonolo Majoro, Luvuyo Memela and Sandile Khumalo all scored for AmaZulu, who are placed 12th on the league standings with four points from four matches.

The KwaZulu-Natal giants are unbeaten at home so far this season after taking four points from their two games as hosts against Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City secured a 4-2 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at home on November 22, featuring a brace of goals from Thabo Nodada.

Fagrie Lakay and Mduduzi Mdantsane also scored for the Citizens, who are placed fifth on the league with seven points from four matches.

The Western Cape side has played just one away game so far this season, picking up a 1-0 win at Maritzburg United in late October.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and City have met in six previous top-flight league matches.

Usuthu have claimed three wins compared to two for the Citizens, with one draw in the rivalry thus far.

The Durban side has a 100 percent home record in the rivalry, with three wins from as many matches as hosts.

Last season AmaZulu took four points off City, winning 2-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium in October 2019 and drawing 2-2 at Cape Town Stadium in January 2020.

Striker Bonginkosi Ntuli scored all four goals for Usuthu across the two games.
