Kaizer Chiefs’ CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg clash against Cameroonian side PWD Bamenda, which was scheduled to have been played on Friday evening at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg has now been changed to this evening at 19:00. The postponement is not ideal for Chiefs who hold a crucial 1-0 lead from the first leg, but coach Gavin Hunt remains upbeat that Amakhosi can come out with a positive result.
“It’s not ideal conditions to prepare the team. We have done all our preparations and have met all the regulations – we are just waiting to play the match. The situation has an impact on our overall setup including the many upcoming fixtures.”
While the delay in the game has not been ideal, Hunt’s target now is for Chiefs to progress to the next round.
“I just wish things could have been done better because they knew well ahead of time that they needed to travel to South Africa. Now we moved the game with a day and thereafter our kick-off time also changed,” he says. “We will do our best under these conditions to advance to the next round.”
The winner of this game will progress to the first leg where they will meet Angolan side Primero de Agosto in the first round.
This evening’s game will be played at FNB Stadium at 19:00.
