Usutho, Maritzburg in KZN Derby

AmaZulu FC will host their KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United in the DStv Premiership match at the Kings Park Stadium on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 15h30 CAT.

Usuthu were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Kaizer Chiefs in their previous league game which was played at the Kings Park Stadium on January 13.

AmaZulu have claimed eight points from six home matches this season including wins over Black Leopards and Chippa United.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg secured a 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs in their previous match which took place at the FNB Stadium on January 9.

The Team of Choice have claimed three points from five away matches this season, with their win over Chiefs bringing them their first points on the road and a first clean sheet of the season.

In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and AmaZulu have met in 22 league matches since the 2006/07 season.

The Team of Choice have claimed 11 wins compared to two for Usuthu, while nine matches have been drawn.

Usuthu have claimed just one win from 11 home matches in the rivalry, suffering five defeats in the process.

Last season, AmaZulu and Maritzburg drew 0-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium in December 2019.

Maritzburg emerged 1-0 winners over AmaZulu in the return game at the Harry Gwala Stadium in January 2020.

The Team of Choice are unbeaten in the last eight league meetings with Usuthu, who will be determined to end this winless run.
