Bantwana to report for camp ahead of second leg qualifier against Ethiopia

The South African U-17 National Women’s Team will report for camp on Sunday 24 April 2022 ahead of their away second leg 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on 1 May 2022.

Bantwana, as the South African U-17 National Women’s Team are known, lost 3-0 to Ethiopia at homer in the first leg on 15 April 2022 at Wits Stadium, where all the players earned their first ever international caps, as this was their first ever international match.

Head coach Simphiwe Dludlu will be hoping to turn the result around in the hope of progressing to the final round of qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be staged in India later this year.

Dludlu believes that it is not impossible to turn the result around, but it will be a huge task for her young soliders, especially with all the factors they will be facing this coming week.

“We have called up 22 players for this return leg, with the hope that the players will return with a spirit of hard work.”

“The aim is to fight until the final whistle and hope for a positive result;”said Dludlu.
